A Summer to Remember in 2026: Part 2

💡We're recapping our summer by sharing the goals we aimed to complete between Memorial and Labor Day weekends! If you missed Part 1, find it here. Against all odds, we made it to New England for our only summer RV trip. Its purpose was productivity; we had to

Summer to Remember

A Summer to Remember in 2026

The time has come once again, to share our list of summer goals and recap this busy season. Only this time, things looked a bit different. For the past 3 years, we blogged about our summers of travel, scooting to multiple states, and last year, even journeying across the whole

Weather/Natural Disasters

Going full throttle

💡Our journey home from New England just started, and it's already an emotional roller coaster! Catch up on the posts here: The big haul Emotional whiplash at Lums Pond State Park In the early morning hours of Monday, July 27, we got woken up by the loud sounds

Emotional whiplash at Lums Pond State Park

Continued from The big haul After a 10-hour drive day to get out of New England, we arrived to Lums Pond State Park in Bear, DE, a familiar favorite campground that's one of our go-to destinations on launch days. This was different than a launch day,

The big haul

After a productive 5 weeks tackling a hefty to-do list in New England, we finally set our compass south and planned our return to our new cottage in SC. We didn't complete every task on our list, but we quickly determined which were most essential. On both

Our New England to-do list: Was our trip as productive as we hoped?

We spontaneously transitioned into part-time RV life by renting a cottage in Myrtle Beach! After our rather tumultuous year in life and travel, we couldn't have been happier with our decision. If we had it our way, we would have settled into our cottage and taken a

RV Problems

4 nights on 30amp

After 2 weeks staying near our land in the foothills of the White Mountains, it was time to start making our way south. We were in the middle of tackling a big New England to-do list – not one of adventure, but one of necessity. Life threw us a lot

Harvest Host Stories

Our limited electric is causing a lot of problems

We're in the middle of our first official trip as part-time RVers, after hitting a breaking point and renting a home after 4.5 years of full-timing. What happened to get us to this point? 1. We suffered the beginning stages of burnout last year, a

Truck Problems/Servicing

First drive day of part-time RV life...and the drama still found us

Before we turned this year on its head, the general plan was to head south for the winter and then return to New England sometime in the spring or early summer. In other words, we weren't planning a lot of travel. Why? Because we had gotten well past

Turning to a SC state park to find RV life joy again

Continued from Our inverter replacement did not go as planned What was supposed to be a 2-hour displacement turned into a whole day of sitting in the truck in nearly 100-degree temperatures. EcoEthic Solar didn't have it any easier. They thought they had scheduled a straightforward

RV Servicing

Our inverter replacement did NOT go as planned

Let's catch you up. On what was supposed to be a relaxing evening of nothingness, our inverter decided to die in dramatic fashion – literally going up in smoke and frying itself into a stupor. 0:00 /0:03 1× Anthony learned how to bypass the inverter so we

Milestones

We made a bold move...now what?

💡We made a bold move after hitting our final breaking point on the road. Now we enter a new, surprise chapter. Catch up on the previous posts: We need to talk about this. A major curveball no one saw coming...not even us! We've had some stressful trip

RV Life Season 5

We need to talk about this.

We're going to speak candidly here. Season 5 has been hell on wheels. We started the year at our home-base in MA, unexpectedly back in our RV after our winter rental fell through. We didn't know how long we'd stay, but we felt

RV Servicing

All-day displacement while our trailer gets repairs

In the RV life, it's a known fact that, at any given time, something will need repairs. We barrel down the road, and things shake loose and break. We take our homes through all different climates and terrains. And let's face it – most RV components are

Dog-friendly St. Augustine

Continued from An impromptu vacation to St. Augustine. Thanks to a very long, grueling trolley tour, we had run out of time to do most of the things we wanted on our 2nd day of exploring St. Augustine. We ended up abandoning our tour, getting our truck, and driving closer

Truck Problems/Servicing

This could have been really bad (2 flat tires 2 days apart)

After we launched back on the road for Season 5, we took a few weeks to reach our first "big dot" on our itinerary: Fort Myers, our jumping off point for visiting Anthony's family. Of course, "big dot" is a loose term this year,

A major reset after being excavated from our campground

Continued from Blythe Island left a literal hole in our travels On the morning of Monday, March 31, we found ourselves exiting Blythe Island Regional Park in Georgia, trying to register the sheer absurdity that had just occurred. We were into our 5th year of full-time RVing, and that

Weather/Natural Disasters

We launched right into a severe weather outbreak. Here's how we stayed "weather flexible" and "weather aware."

Continued from One more delay, one more launch. We delayed our launch one extra day so that we could avoid high winds and finish a few more repairs. It was a good choice, except for one little issue. "What are you going to do about the severe weather?"

RV Life Season 5

The Great Thaw

A historic blizzard dumped over 2 feet of snow on us, but worse than the snow accumulation were the winds – some reaching over 70mph. Our parking spot at our MA home-base is surrounded by trees, and those branches couldn't handle the gusts. Our RV came away with

RV Problems

The big pivot

Last year on November 6, we made a huge leap towards our next chapter of life. We bought land in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the place that we always considered end-game. Since then, even though we continued traveling full-time, we stayed honest on the blog. Nomadic

We played cross-country blackout Bingo from California to Massachusetts

For Summer to Remember this year, we opted out of our usual challenges to hike and/or ebike 100 miles from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekends. We learned our lesson from previous years and didn't want to end up resenting our outdoor time, which was supposed to

Travel days with the new cats

We lucked out big time when our two new cats, Piccolo and Mac, warmed right up to us, Tanner, and the RV...well, at least the RV while it was stationary. We still had one more big obstacle to tackle, and that was their first travel day. They were trailer
